The creators of games have built a company of games. We think of games for basic entertainment but it provides more than that. The most popular games today are GTA (Grand Theft Auto), NBA2k15,The Walking Dead. These games appeal to a side of desire, fiction, fairytale, and adventures we cannot pursue in our everyday lives. In these games we get to kill, drive whatever car we want, be our favorite fairytale creature, and be a professional basketball player. It provides endless possibilities. The world of gaming is becoming so realistic that now in the game NBA 2k15 you are able to scan your face and make the player look just like you and talk like you using microphones. It has become another way to escape the life we are unsatisfied with and become who we truly wish we had the ability to be.

Is life a strategy game? In life we plan everything we do according to a goal we are trying to achieve. We have ups and downs during our lifetime. These downfalls prevent us from getting to the goal sooner than later. In strategy games there is a goal to the game whether it be to kill or become successful. These games reflect the actions of our daily lifes without us actually realizing it. We play these games for a purpose. It lets us get away from reality and become a virtual character. Think of life as a strategy game. There are different stages of life you have to go through to get to the next. The first few stages would be considered ages 1-16 these are fairly the easy stages that guide you through how to play the game or in this case how to survive and live life. The next stage is the young adult stage these are stages 18-30. This is where the game becomes alittle difficult and it requires you to put more time and energy into the game. You have to really sit back and plan accordingly else you will lose in these levels. The last stage is the adult stage 35 + , these stages are considered the hardest stages but they seem easy because you got use to the stage before and know how to handle certain tasks or missions. Once you past these stages its smooth sailing for the rest of the game. You are now considered a winner and we all want to be a winner at life.

Virtual Identity vs. Real Identity

Through are daily lifes we probably all fantasize about being someone else. We look towards models and celebrities as a way to judge ourselves. It is a way we critique our looks. The world is full with people that might be smarter, prettier or funnier than us. This makes us feel less of a person and we aim to be just like them or even better. In society we aim for perfection. In reality perfection is not possible and we are never satisfied with how we look, laugh, or talk. This is when we look towards other sources that make us feel superior and untouchable. This new source allows us to pretend to be something we are not, say things we are afraid to say in real life, and do things we are not able to do. This is known as virtual life. There are many virtual life sites; The Sims, IMVU, Weebly, Stardoll, and many more. These sites allows the user to create a character of their liking and live a typically virtual life. On these sites people form new lifes, friendships, and even relationships through their virtual character. The virtual world allows them to be who they want and do what they want without the pressure of society behind their back judging their actions. They feel safe on here.
